The MG13 or Maschinengewehr 13 is a German light machine gun that entered service in 1930, being superseded by the MG34 but remaining in service with second-line German units during WWII. It has many features that were eventually carried into the MG34 including the double-crescent selective fire trigger. Unusually for an LMG of this era, it incorporated a folding butt stock. Chambered in the standard 7.92mm calibre, it used 25 round box magazines rather than belts. This example is part of a contract manufactured for Portugal, never delivered and then taken into second-line service by the Germans. It is profusely Nazi marked and dated 1938. Deactivated to the UK specification with fully moving parts, working dry fire action, removable magazine and the ability to field strip (apart from the barrel).
