UNAVAILABLE. NON-EU SALES ONLY - PLEASE CONTACT US FOR FURTHER DETAILS. Nice example of a 1941 dated AVT-40. The AVT was the fully auto version of SVT-40 was itself was based on the earlier SVT-38 and was designed to replace the aging Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle. It is a box fed affair with a gas operated self loading mechanism. The AVT had a modified safety which acted as a fire selector as well as a different style of flash hider (four larger ports) and could deliver a rate of fire of around 750 rpm (the DP28 rate of fire was around 550 rpm!). The SVT/AVT series of rifles were prized as a war trophy by German troops. THIS IS ONE SUCH EXAMPLE with a clear WaA497 stamp by the date. Complete with one magazine and 5 inert 7.62 x 54R rounds. Post 1995 UK deactivation with moving trigger and safety.
