Firearms International Model D .380ACP

A very interesting little Colt style .380ACP compact auto. In the 1970's Colt decided to to offer a compact .380 auto and rather than designing and manufacturing it themselves, they partnered with Star of Spain to modify the Star DK. The idea was that the majority of the components would come from Star with the frame being made in the US and the gun also to be assembled in the US. It was to be called the Colt 'Pony'. The Colt/Star partnership finished before the model was produced in any real numbers but the concept was kept alive firstly by Iver Johnson and then by Firearms International (FI). This FI example is even more interesting as it has one of the original Colt contract frames with a CPA prefixed serial number (Colt Pony Automatic). In good overall condition and complete with one magazine and 2 inert .380ACP rounds. Deactivated to the current specification with a moving slide under spring pressure, moving trigger under spring pressure, moving hammer under spring pressure, working safety, removable magazine and the ability to lock the slde back with the slide stop.
