SOLD. A good example of an original Enfield manufactured Bren chambered in .303. There isn't much to say about the Bren that most people don't already know; a mainstay weapon and a legend in its own right. The MKIII Bren was produced in relatively small numbers from 1944 and was a shorter and lighter weapon designed for airborne troops and the like. You see fewer MKIII variants compared to MKI and MKII Brens and even fewer that are as original as this one. This example was manufactured in 1955 with the serial number UE55A3313. All of the major components have matching numbers (upper, lower, barrel locking lever) and these are stamped rather than later electro-pencilled. The stock and carrying handle are the correct type as is the MKI type bipod with extending legs. There is some service wear to the metalwork finish and the woodwork has a few minor knocks from use. Complete one magazine, sling (not pictured) and 5 inert .303 rounds. EU specification deactivation with moving cocking handle under spring pressure, moving trigger under spring pressure, moving fire selector and removable magazine, but without a dry-fire action or the ability to field strip.
