The standard Russian service revolver of WWII, the Nagant 1895 was originally designed in Belgium in the 1890’s. Although declared obsolete in the 1930’s it was manufactured in large numbers during the war and indeed up to the 1950’s. Its most interesting feature was the fact that it employed a gas seal mechanism; this made it one of the few revolvers ever to be silenced effectively. This 1939 dated Tula example is in really excellent condition with the majority of finish intact and very good hardwood grips. Deactivated to the EU specification with rotating cylinder (freely and indexed on trigger pull), moving trigger under spring pressure, moving hammer under spring pressure, opening loading gate AND clear cylinder chambers to accept inert rounds but without the ability to field strip or dry fire.
