SOLD. Manufactured between 1957 and 1983, the Stgw.57 represents one of the finest and most expensive automatic rifles ever issued to any army in the world. Chambered for full power 7.5 x 55 GP11 ammunition, the Stgw.57 provides long range accurate shooting in semi-automatic mode combined with significant full auto firepower, thanks to its relatively heavy weight, integral bipod and a shrouded barrel. This example is an original Swiss Army issued model rather than one of the export derivatives chambered in 7.62 NATO. It is in near mint condition with and comes complete with one magazine, original Swiss leather sling, original Swiss M57 bayonet, original Swiss military issue cleaning kit and two inert 7.5mm rounds. The quality of this gun is amazing; just look at the engineering in the rear diopter sight and you can see why they were so expensive. This example also has the very clever extended winter trigger and is fully matching numbered (stock, receiver, barrel shroud and bolt). EU deactivation with moving cocking handle (under spring pressure), moving bolt section (under spring pressure), moving trigger (under spring pressure), moving fire selector, removable magazine and removable stock but without the ability dry fire or fully field strip. See our video of this type of deactivated firearm here. Sorry - no international sales.
