BSA Lee Enfield MKIII* SMLE .303

£450.00
Price incl. VAT, plus delivery

SOLD. Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) in .303 calibre as used throughout WWI and in this case WWII by allied forces - an important piece of history. This BSA manufactured example is a MKIII* model without the magazine cut-off but with the earlier type rounded cocking piece. Undated, we believe this is very likely a between the wars example. The metalwork is generally in very good overall condition with some wear commensurate with service use. The woodwork is original and is generally in good used condition. There is a small split on the left hand side of the woodwork which has a very old repair to it; this is completely sound. We think it likely that this is a late WWI or possibly a between the wars example. Complete with reproduction webbing sling and five inert .303 rounds. EU deactivation with a moving bolt, moving trigger (under spring pressure), working safety and removable magazine but without the ability dry fire or field strip. See our video showing an example of this type of deactivation here.
