The Kommando LDP submachine gun came about because arms embargos imposed on South Africa and more specifically, Rhodesia during the 1960’s. At this time Rhodesian forces were equipped with Czech Vz-25 SMG’s and the Rhodesian manufactured LDP has definite similarities with this weapon. There are also similarities with the UZI and indeed the LDP is also known as the RHUZI (RHodesian UZI). This example is in very good overall condition and comes complete with one magazine and 5 inert 9mm rounds. It looks to have had a repair to the front of the plastic stock, but this is hardly noticable and completely firm. Pre 1995 deactivation with fully moving parts, dry fire action and the ability to field strip.
