Enfield Bren MKIII

SOLD. A really excellent example of an original Enfield manufactured Bren chambered in .303. There isn't much to say about the Bren that most people don't already know; a mainstay weapon and a legend in its own right. The MKIII Bren was produced in relatively small numbers from 1944 and was a shorter and lighter weapon designed for airborne troops and the like. You see very few MKIII variants compared to MKI and MKII Brens and even fewer that are as original as this one. This example was manufactured in 1955 with the serial number (UE55)A3548. All of the major components have matching numbers (upper, lower, barrel, barrel locking lever) and these are stamped rather than later electro-pencilled. The stock and carrying handle are the correct type as is the MKI type bipod with extending legs. In short we believe this to be a fully matching original example with no replacement later or alternative manufacturer parts. It has the standard sunkerite/black enamel finish with very minor wear only (90%+ intact). The woodwork is also very good. Complete two magazines (one EU adapted and one standard NIW 1950's MKIII example), Bren Sling and 10 inert .303 rounds. Deactivated to the EU specification with moving cocking handle and removable magazine, but without a dry-fire action. Sorry - no international sales.
