WWI 1917 SSA MKIII* SMLE .303

SOLD. Original SSA (Standard Small Arms) manufactured Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) in .303 calibre. This WWI MKIII* model has a 1917 dated receiver and may have seen use not only in WWI but also in WWII. In generally very good used condition with replacement wood. Complete with one magazine, webbing sling, five inert .303 rounds on a stripper clip, oil bottle and pull through. Deactivated to the new EU specification with fully moving parts, working dry fire action and the ability to field strip (apart from the barrel). Existing collectors should note that the EU specification for the deactivation of bolt action rifles with detachable magazines is almost identical to the previous UK spec. The only real difference is a slight adaption to the magazine/well that is actually better in some respects as it allows the bolt to be cycled with inert rounds present the magazine.
