WWII Sten MKV 'SOE'

SOLD. Manufactured in huge numbers during WWII and beyond, The Sten was probably the most utilitarian but effective SMG of the period. Produced from pressed and welded steel plate with minimal machining the Sten was relatively cheap in terms of both materials and labour. Having said this, the MKV model was by far the best quality version of the Sten produced. This M/78 (Elkingtron & Co Birmingham) example is in what we've loosely termed an 'SOE' configuration with the stock removed and replaced by a blanking plate (reproduction) and a sling mounting point added to the pistol grip. In good overall condition, but with service wear to the finish. Complete with one magazine, 5 rounds of inert 9mm parabellum and original sling. Deactivated to the new EU specification with removable magazine and stock. Existing collectors should note that the EU specification for the deactivation of SMG is almost identical to the previous UK spec. The only real difference is a slight adaption to the magazine/well that is not externally visible. Sorry - no international sales.
