SOLD. Manufactured from 1961 to 1979, the Ithaca M49 has been designed to look like a conventional lever action repeater. It is in fact a single shot falling block rifle with a dummy magazine tube. Dropping the lever on the M49 drops the falling block to allow loading of .22 Magnum RF rounds. Once the lever is back up and the action 'closed' the hammer has to be cocked manually before releasing via the trigger in the normal way. A really interesting little mini 'Winchester' in generally very good overall condition. Deactivated to the new EU specification with fully moving parts, working dry fire action and the ability to field strip (apart from the barrel). Existing collectors should note that the EU specification for the deactivation of rifles is almost identical to the previous UK spec. Sorry - no international sales.
