A well used example of the WWI designed M3A1 ‘Grease Gun’ submachine gun. The M3 was developed as a cheaper alternative to the Thompson series of submachine guns. It was also quicker and easier to mass produce as it made extensive use of pressing and welding rather than machining. The A1 simplified the design even further and was manufactured from 1944 onwards. This Guide Lamp manufactured example comes complete with one 30 round magazine, removable flash hider and 5 inert .45ACP rounds. This example has seen some use and has evidence of minor corrosion in places that has subsequently been removed; still a good original example. Post-1995 UK deactivation with removable magazine, working stock, opening ejection port and moving trigger but without any other moving parts.
